From Melbourne, Australia, The Man Who Wasn’t There (aka Andrew Watson) weaves violin, guitar, noise and loops into a live instrumental soundtrack blending post classical, post rock and improvised styles. The Man Who Wasn’t There has performed in venues ranging from small bars to exotic and opulent spaces such as Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Buildings, The Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London and Panjim Beach in Goa, India.
He was the co-producer, contributing video artist and composer for the 2018 Melbourne International Arts Festival multimedia fulldome show Particle / Wave.
The Man Who Wasn’t There has collaborated with celebrated spoken word artist, Emilie Zoey Baker on a video and audio release ‘Dear All The Women Who Ever Existed Over The Entire Span Of Human History’ to raise funds for ASTI - Acid Survivors Trust International, performed shows in India, London & France in 2015 and will be performing at London’s Bloomsbury Festival in October, 2016.
The Man Who Wasn’t There has acted as the principle composer for The Interim Lovers, co-scored the Melbourne International Arts Festival show ‘Elemental’ and both recorded and performed live with a host of bands including Slow Dissolve (formerly known as Collins Lynch Watson), Waywardbreed, MJ Halloran, Brian Hooper, Midnight Scavengers, Charlie Marshall & The Body Electric, Joshua Seymour Band, The Interim Lovers and Vampillia (Japan) to name just a few. The Man Who Wasn’t There’s new album, 'Just Because You Saw Her Doesn't Mean She Was There' is out now through Hawk Moth Records.
